Four of STAIN Sultan Abdurrahman Students Won the Silat Champion in the 3rd Wasit Juri Kepri Championship (WJKC) Year of 2024

Bintan, the Campus Devoted to Revelation, Based on Science - State Islamic College (STAIN) Sultan Abdurrahman Kepulauan Riau won 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal in Pencak Silat Student Activity Unit (UKM) in the framework of Pencak Silat Championship Wasit Juri Kepri Championship 3 (WJKC3) Year of 2024.

The 3rd WJKC Pencak Silat Championship 2024 was officially opened by the Governor of Kepulauan Riau Province, represented by the Head of Kepulauan Riau Provincial Youth and Sports Office, Drs. Muhammad Iksan, who was accompanied by the Head of the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (IPSI) Kepulauan Riau, Khaidir.

Also present at the event were Khaidir (the chairman of the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (IPSI)), Usep (the chairman of the Kepulauan Riau National Sports Committee), Al Iksan (the Head of Dispora Batam City) and Sugianto (the chairman of the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (IPSI)).

The competition was held at Botania Mall 2 Batam which was conducted from 5 to 7 January 2024. Participants who took part in this agenda were 1,697 people attended by 89 teams from universities, schools and the public throughout Kepulauan Riau region, such as Lingga, Karimun, Bintan Regency, Tanjungpinang and Batam City.

Participants who participated in the 3rd WJKC Pencak Silat Championship in 2024 were Muhammad Rafi Maulana Ikhsan from the Islamic Education Management Study Program who won 1st place and received a gold medal in the Class C Single Action Category, Ahmad Dani from the Islamic Education Study Program who won 2nd place and received a silver medal in the Class C Single Action Category, Muhammad Hamzah from the Sharia Business Management Study Program who won 2nd place and received a silver medal in the Class D Single Action Category, and La Angga from the Islamic Education Study Program who won 3rd place and received a bronze medal in the Class B Single Action category.

The supervisor of Pencak Silat Student Activity Unit of STAIN Sultan Abdurrahman Kepulauan Riau said "Alhamdulillah, our students from UKM Pencak Silat STAIN Kepulauan Riau achieved extraordinary achievements again, all the athletes whom we sent got some medals. 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal. Congratulations to the 4 people who won, hopefully this will also be a support for other friends."

In addition, "hopefully our UKM Pencak Silatwill continue to be recognised by the wider community and bring blessings to the campus or students of STAIN Sultan Abdurrahman Kepulauan Riau. Hopefully in the future we will plunge more of our silat athletes", Abror said.

The Chairman of STAIN Sultan Abdurrahman Kepulauan Riau, Dr. Muhammad Faisal, M.Ag, also appreciated the achievements that had been achieved by UKM Pencak Silat. He hopes that Pencak Silat of STAIN Sultan Abdurrahman Kepulauan Riau is able and continues to achieve and bring the good name for campus both at the Provincial, National and International Levels.(trnslt Dilla)
